The Ravi Kabob Special

We had a splendid lunch outing today to Ravi Kabob House, a Pakistani hole-in-the-wall specializing in kebabs in Arlington< VA. We hadn't had an excursion out there in a while and were eager to eat at perhaps the very best place for kebabs in the DC area (Shamshiry in McLean and Kebabji in Dupont Circle are pretty good too). Here you can see the tremendous Ravi Special (photo credits: Johan)! You get fresh bread, rice, chickpeas, and chicken and ground beef kebabs. The chicken is a beautiful burnt orange with great marinated masala flavors. The ground beef kebab is packed with fresh green chilies, onions and pepper. Our chickpeas weren't too oily, but could have been spicier. The rice was fluffy and the salad sweet and satisfy wrapped in crispy bread to follow the morsels of juicy meat. If you haven't been out there, it's a place for great cheap eats that's definitely worth the trip!
